I was born in Washington, DC, grew up in Southern Maryland, and relocated to Jacksonville in 1998. Before I was a Realtor, I had a career in financial management, but I took many years off to raise my boys. Once they were grown, I decided it was time to get back to work – this time as a Realtor! Having bought and sold many homes over the years myself, it was a process with which I was familiar and something I really enjoyed, so becoming an agent was a natural next step. I enjoy seeing the different styles of houses, what makes them special, and how the owners make them their own. Of course, the best part of the job is the people I meet and the privilege I have in helping them find the perfect home in which to begin a new chapter of their life. In my spare time I put my years in finance to use and teach the Budget for Baby class at NASJAX Navy Marine Corp Relief Society. I am also the President/Co-Founder of Comfort for Animals, Inc (501c3 nonprofit); on the Board of The Woman’s Club of Jacksonville; a Cellist with the First Coast Pops; a Clay Potter and USCCA Certified Firearms Instructor specializing in safety and self-defense for Realtors and women. My sons, Andrew & Matt, live far away now in San Francisco and New York City, but my newest child lives at home with me – a miniature wire-haired dachshund named Josie.

Shelley was referred to me by a friend who worked with her at one time. Originally I was going to ask my friend to handle the sale of the property. I cannot list enough positive points to adequately cover how professional, thorough, meticulous and expedient Shelley handled ( in a very relatively short period of time) the sale of our property. Within HOURS of our contract and the house officially going to market , Shelley identified what would become the buyer of the property. Just a couple days ago we completed the sale of the home. Shelley gives 110% to her clients. I recommend Shelley to my step-son and his wife as they were looking for their first house. Shelley was hands on from the moment they exchanged contact info. She showed them “their” house during a terrible rain storm (where other agents had canceled) and wrote up the contract at a restaurant while she was waiting for friends to have dinner.
